Located in the heart of London’s historic Jermyn Street, 103-105 Jermyn Street is undergoing a sensitive refurbishment and extension led by Trehearne Architects. This project aims to transform the existing building into modern, flexible office and retail spaces, enhancing its contribution to the local economy and aligning with the area’s distinctive character.
The current structure, with its 1970s façade, has been identified in the St. James Conservation Area Audit as having a negative impact on the area’s character and appearance. The proposed design addresses this by replacing the outdated façade with a high-quality, considerate design that harmonizes with the surrounding architecture. The project adopts a predominantly retrofit approach, retaining the building’s core, structure, and rear façade, while unlocking an additional 5,000 square feet of office space. This strategy not only modernizes the building but also significantly improves its environmental performance, incorporating sustainability and biodiversity enhancements.
As part of the planning process, we developed verified views to accurately represent the proposed changes. These verified photomontages combine precise photography with detailed 3D modeling to create realistic images that depict the building’s current state alongside the proposed design. This method provides a clear visual comparison, facilitating informed decision-making and fostering transparency during public consultations. Verified views are essential in planning applications, offering a realistic expectation of a development’s appearance and its physical impact on the surroundings.
Our comprehensive process adheres to industry-standard methodologies, ensuring that the visual representations are both accurate and reliable. By employing these techniques, we aim to support the planning process effectively, contributing to the successful realization of the 103-105 Jermyn Street project.
