Located in the heart of Fitzrovia within the Charlotte Street Conservation Area, 60 Charlotte Street is a mixed-use redevelopment that stands out within the area’s urban fabric. Unlike the typical terraced structures that define Fitzrovia, this project occupies the full width of its block, presenting a distinctive frontage on Charlotte Street with Scala Street and Tottenham Street on either side.
The development includes high-quality BCO-compliant office spaces, policy-compliant residential accommodations, and expanded retail and restaurant facilities. The design respects and reinterprets the local character, with a robust brick base at the lower levels transitioning to lighter, metal-framed upper floors. The lower sections feature recessed metal-clad vertical strips, breaking the facade into bays that echo Fitzrovia’s traditional Georgian proportions. Setbacks at the higher levels enhance the streetscape and bring cohesion to the overall composition.
Trehearne Architects led the design, creating a structure that bridges historic character and modern requirements. Avixual collaborated with them to produce CGIs for Aberdeen Standard, aiding in design decisions and marketing the project. 60 Charlotte Street combines thoughtful design with functionality, providing dynamic spaces for work, living, and leisure.
