Victorian Apartment

This project renovated a Victorian apartment in North London, transforming it into a modern yet characterful space. The apartment occupies the upper level of a building previously divided into two flats. It now features a loft conversion on the top floor and a reconfigured open-plan living area.

The goal was to connect the kitchen and living room while preserving the charm and elegance of the Victorian apartment. Removing internal walls created a flowing, open layout. The design retains distinct zones while feeling spacious. A key challenge was blending the kitchen into the space without it feeling too “kitchen-like” or cluttered. A central island solves this by serving as a practical cooking area, workspace, and counter for casual seating.

To modernize the space and honor its heritage, we replaced the original fireplace with a sleek, minimalist design. An elegant archway links the kitchen and living room. It adds openness while subtly defining each area.

The interior design blends traditional details with modern finishes. We selected furniture and materials to highlight the apartment’s historic character. Practicality and comfort for modern living were also priorities. This mix of old and new creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

A series of CGIs showcases the transformation of this Victorian apartment. The images highlight its flowing layout, thoughtful design details, and balance of classic and modern elements. The renovation respects the apartment’s heritage while making it functional and stylish for today’s lifestyle.
